What ever happened to "Southern Rock Music"? |
Molly Hatchet,,Allman Bros..and the like,, FLY BY NIGHT,,a great one from Rush Here's a great 'Sweet Melissa' Still around I still find southern rock music to still be alive, kids these days are kind of bringing it back, but like only one or two bands (i.e Skynyrd) thats like asking what ever happend to the big band era. It's still around, just not a major blip on the radar. I have a feeling that Southern rock will never die. Check out the Drive-By Truckers, they pay homage to some of the greats. once the free bird fell to the ground, it all just faded away from there. R.I.P Ronny bo bice? True Southern Rock died out about oh, nearly 30 years ago I dunno but check out Once Nothing. They are amazing. check out patterson hood's great great band the Drive by Truckers Eh...are the Black Crows consider southern rock? It is alive and well...saw Dickie Betts this summer and the Allman Brothers 2 times... As a viable genre, the last LP to hit it big was "Blackfoot Strikes". |
