On this note, what are your thoughts on gay musicians.. do you think it has any impact on theirr music, or how much you like it?

& What do you think of Pete Wentz, along with wearing girl pants and eyeliner, wishing he was homosexual? He states that it's because he wants to be the minority and fight everybody off, or something like that.
In my opinion.. *somebody* needs a little attention.

He's the biggest argument for birth control...seriously. It shouldn't surprise anyone that a comment that ignorant came from him - I can't say I'm shocked. Like a few people have already said, until he walks even 10 feet in the shoes of a homosexual he has no idea what they go through on a daily basis. It's beyond his comprehension, and it's even beyond the comprehension of some of us more intelligent straight people.
And honestly, I've never even thought of the orientation of the musicians I listen to. As long as someone isn't sleeping with children or animals, I couldn't care less.
Edit: 鈺?鈩?鈺?- my issue with this is he is turning a lifestyle that no one has chosen, and has been persecuted, into a punchline. What was said (planted or not) potentially could have been read and absorbed by quite a few of his younger and more impressionable fans. He's a role model despite how he, or any of us, feel about it.
Stupidity should not be admired or emulated, and his behavior breeds it. Is he just saying that so the homosexual community will buy his records? I could care less about a musician's sexuality. I'm more interested in the music than their private lives. I liked Elton John and Melissa Etheridge both way before they ever came out. As for Pete Wentz, I don't care much for the music of Fall Out Boy, and it has nothing to do with sexuality, it has everything to do with their music. I think he just wants attention.
Many gay people go through hell, just for being honest with themselves and the people around them, it's really hard and he's taking it for a joke...
I wouldn't enjoy a lesbian's music anymore than a straight person's music - the sexuality of the musician has no impact on how much i like it - good music is what matters, not who they are attracted to. Man - I hate that guy!
I think heez just a gay guy in the closet ... Sooner or later he will admit that heez gay or someone will catch him snogging with a guy ...

*Waiting* i dont care really, he can do what he wants. I will have to agree with some of you, I think he is doing it to up his fan quota. He wants to be in the minority? Come on... I don't think there is anyone who wishes to be looked down upon, made fun of, etc.
Gay musicians have no effect on me, if their music is good, that is all that counts and I don't think it impacts their music (at least not for me). Not too long ago I found out that Tegan and Sara were twin lesbians and I love their music all the same. who cares if you like the music then somthing like that sould not change you love for the band he is just an attention whoree. and he needs to just be happy with himself.
if ur a gay musician, i dont think it will have much of an impact, as long as you are not to flamboyant about it.

It's completely irrelevant to any meaningful conversation. Straight, gay, bi, it makes no difference to the music. Fall Out Boy is a horrendous train wreck of a rock band for the simple reason that they make bad, annoying music, their song titles try to hard to be clever when they aren't and their fan base has no taste in music whatsoever.
I want to make perfectly clear that there's nothing wrong with being gay. However, I find Pete Wentz's remarks to be completely ignorant, lacking in any depth or understanding of the issues, much like his music. He sounds like a confused little child who hasn't a clue as to exactly what he's fighting against.
Sookie - well said! I don't care about a musicians sexual orientation and it never has any bearing on what I think of their music. The only thing it could really effect would be their lyrics, and that still wouldn't bother me, if a straight person can consistently write love songs or songs about sex then so can a gay person, of either sex.
So to sum up my answer, gay or straight makes absolutely no difference, it's how it sounds that will get me to like it.
And yes, I'm sure whatshisface just wants attention. i do think its sort of because he wants attention BUT its nice to have a musican, who many people look up to supporting gay rights, its what people need to get some sense knocked into them.
My thoughts on gay musicans are its their love life and who really cares, if their music is good i listen to it, it doesnt make a differnce for me if the musican is gay of straight. I could care less if someone was gay or not. The music is still the feelings that are inside of them, and even gay people and beautifully express their feelings. I like Pete Wentz. He dressed and acted like before he got famous, and I think that it is good that he stayed himself even after he got famous. i love pete, he is so hot I love Pete and I'm the one to give him the attention he needs EDIT : WHATEVZ HOMEY..
