What version of Maggie's Farm do you like best?

Rage Against The Machine's version
or Bob Dylan's version.

In my opinion Bob Dylan's is better, whats your opinion?

Bob, live.

It has to be, because of the context of the song - an artist giving an angry middle finger to a whole generation of his fans.

No matter what anyone did in a cover, they would just lose that special significance.

Bob Dylan, obviously!
no one can cover a song and have it sound better than the origial artist's. thats basically the rule of all cover songs.(exept in some rare cases) the song loses all its signifigance and meaning if the writer istn singing it themself (thats what i think anyway)

Dylan forsure..he is a musical genious.

Bob's
I just saw a show on Bob Dylan where he was doing it and it was awesome.

I give props to Zack and the boys for doing a kick *** cover of that song. It's a good arrangement. One of the best covers I've ever heard.

The Grateful Dead used to do a decent version of this too.

In never heard Rage's. I don't think.

Dylan's version ...but I also like U2's version

RATM.

I prefer Dylans version on the album Hard Rain.

Make No Mistake the answer is Dylan - But which version?
For me its gotta be live at newport 64 (this version can be found on bootleg 7 - no direction home) - Also check out versions on the albums 'live at budokan' and 'real live' -
buzzin like

Dylan's version, of course.

The original studio version is good, but I prefer the "Hard Rain" version. I think the "Budokan" disco version is hilarious...probably the best one I've heard though is on a bootleg I've got from Madison Square Garden in 1974 -the "Before The Flood" tour with The Band- that should have gone on the album...I love how he drags out the words, e.g. "She fines you every time you slam the d-hor-hor-hore!!!" It's got a lot of attitude.
