Common Rock Song Misnomers You've Heard on R&P? |
It often surprises me how some people won't go the extra mile to fact-check a CD's track list, to find the appropriate title to a song. Instead they'll find a few words from the chorus and slap it on as the song title. LOL. This is also rampant in media sharing sites such as Project Playlist, IMEEM, and Last FM. Another funny one I saw recently was "In The Midnight Hour" by Billy Idol - guess which one they were talking about? lol! green day's "good riddance" known as "time of your life" "Teenage Wasteland" another brick in the wall pt. 2 by pink floyd The most common ones have to be: "Everybody must get stoned" Eh...When I was 10 years old my brother had me call the radio station and request a Steely Dan song. Wow, there's a few. It annoys me when people say Smashing Pumpkins 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings' is called 'The world is a vampire'. Just because they're the first words in the song I saw someone refer to New Order's "How Do I Feel" on here once. I can only guess that they meant "Blue Monday". The one I hear most often is Local H's "Bound for the Floor" being called "So Pathetic" or "Copacetic". |
