Anyone else sick of the Rock and Pop section?

Or is it just me? The same questions asked every 15 minutes, trolls, people who know f**k all about music acting like they know it all? Fakest place ever. Might as well rename it Sesame Street. Have Big Bird as the top contributor

i haven't been coming here very much either.

i mostly hang out in comics and animation or polls and surverys now.

this place is getting suckier every day.

Hahaha, pretty much. A lot of the questions aren't even about Rock&Pop at some times.

It's even worst when 12 year olds come here acting like they know all the bands and ALL the genres. Well, anyone like that, actually. Really shits me off.

Lol. Yes I'm sick of it, but mostly I'm sick of the bashing and the misconceptions people have of certain bands. I also detest how people think they're musical choices are the best and if you disagree with them then there's something wrong with you. It seems as if people like to brag about the type of music they like instead of actually liking the music to it's entirely. It's annoying but ultimately it displays peoples Ignorance the most, i just can't stand it at times. I personally can't even ask a question about my favorite band without feeling as if I'm a bad person for liking them, it's all very saddening, I rarely ask questions in the section anymore because of it, I just don't have time for the negativity.

You have to look past the repeated questions and mean comments, you get to find truly great music here. I know I felt the same way, but if you have the right contacts, this site can be very enjoyable.

The fair majority of it, yeah, but I'm not into the bashing of certain bands or the repetitive drivel that oftentimes occurs. It's like Rock & Pop itself, there's a lot of crap out there but you have to wade through it to get to that certain jewel.

Plus, what else am I going to do? Hang out in the Educational Standards & Testing section?

I agree with Rckets; there's a lot more good in this forum than bad. You just can't let it bring you down as it's not worth it.

i used to spend all of my time in this section, but now i switch back and forth between here and the polls and surveys. if there was a separate section for pop it might be allot better! i think people ask questions that have nothing to do with music because they know that people in this section would know the answer (example: "where can i find _________ clothes") because believe me, in the fashion section if you asked "where can i find an ac/dc shirt" they would have no idea who that even is. if any of that makes sense...

I agree, a little more diversity would be nice. Rock and Roll is a little broader than My Chemical Romance or the latest Emo band.

I sometimes get fed up too. Then I just think about how bored I would be without it, and all the friends I wouldn't have met. Also, sometimes I have to take a couple of days off, just to get away from the same old questions. Plus sometimes in that sea of repetitive questions you will find a fun lil gem of a question!

you have a point but the reason i hate this section is because they combine rock and pop in a single genre. in my opinion rock has really grown into very wide sub genres. there is such thing as poprock but some people who loves rock, especially the metal or metalcore genres hates pop.

pop as it is popular has many fans while rock fans have relatively grown because of its diversity. so you're basically combining 2 different genres. if they want to do this, why not make a new section of combined Blues and Country and Jazz. haha.

yeah it gets somewhat boring and im sick of people bashing bands and thinking their music is better. most questions are insult questions (most of which have been asked and repeated) im tired of people trying to convince other people that their music is better than one another and i agree with the other person that said this place shows a lot of ignorance. . i also switch from sections to sections. but eh i go here when im bored and i have nothing better to do. so its not that bad. beats being bored

Yeah it does get redundant and there are people who dont know sh*t so I'm with you dude I wish there was more metal and hardcore to weed it out because I like my music and like talking about it but yeah you're right and if you dont say anything good about MCR and Linkin Park you get shafted like they ever mattered cuz ya know emo will be around in 10 more years they save lives!!!-----pffffftt please

You can't know music for good! It shouldn't be treated as a smart it should be treated as something we all can enjoy! Spreading music is good but saying Smashing Pumpkins are better then Zeppelin then saying WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO is the stupidest thing i ever heard
