In need of some really good music...?

I need a few suggestions for some really good bands and/or songs to expand my pathetically small music selection.

1. Anything under the rock genre is preferred.
2. I can't stand profanity.
3. And, frankly, the lead singer has to actually know how to sing. (we've all seen examples of the opposite)
