i used multiply.com to download free mp3 (anime,rock,jazz,oldies,new hitlist, hindi, english, and many more), it doesn't require software to download, just browse the site and download it, if you want to know how to download mp3 from multiply.com read my tutorial :

use loudfusion.com its much safer than limewire and easier and definately more reliable. i got viruses from limewire, its kind of rare, but it can always happen. you have to sign up on loudfusion, but its free and they don't send you any spam or anything.
