Rush is one of the best ever, they may have yet to be well known but they may be getting more known as of now, but your town would wonder, who the hell is Rush? They've [Rush] been around since '74 and are still a band today, but they sound excellent as of their most recent album, Snakes and Arrows [which came out this past May] Rainbow. They started in the late 70's. There were many lineups but the one I recommend is the first one. The band was started by Ritchie Blackmore after he left Deep Purple. He's the guitarist. Ronnie James Dio is the singer. Unfortunately, they only recorded three albums. The first, called "Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow" was good. The second, called "Rising", is one of the best albums ever recorded and has my favorite song of all time on it, "Stargazer". And the third, "Long Live Rock & Roll", has the title song among others. Blackmore and Dio wrote and recorded some truly great rock and roll music. Check iTunes for these albums and you can hear some samples. |
