what do you think about it? Thanks in advance Agreed...there was Gorky Park, and the Moscow Music Peace festival in August 1989 that included Ozzy, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, and Skid Row among others. Amazingly, a lot of the audience knew the words to the bands' songs, even though the albums weren't officially for sale in the Soviet Union; the black market for American music (Western music; Ozzy is British) was quite popular at the time. Also bridging the East and West in music were The Scorpions from a divided Germany.
The only band that I'm aware of from then from Russia is Gorky Park; I'm sure there were others, but none that I know of that were marketed in the West. They were OK, mediocre hard rock/hair metal of the time. At the very least I learned that "Da" means "Yes" at the tender age of 13 from them... Gorky Park, were interesting to listen to...
