Richie Blackmore?

your opinion as Richie Blackmore as a guitarist? (yes, the question dates me)

(I meant to say "opinion OF Richie Blackmore..." sorry...)

Well since Purple is My third favorite band of all time I may be a bit biased
But I think Richie Blackmore is one of the best and most accomplished guitarists ever.
Not to mention the fact that He pretty much invented the neo-classical style of rock guitar all by His lonesome

While I am at it, who here agrees that it's a travesty Deep Purple aren't in the RR HOF?

Deep Purple was always one of my favorites. Saw them in concert many times.!!! Blackmore Rocks!!!!

Not bad but never one of the "greats". He's gone all weird and medieval now with his "Blackmore Nights" stuff.

I grew up listening to Blackmore, Page and Iommi and he is a brilliant guitarist. Shame about his recent stuff though

I like Blackmore better with Rainbow than with Deep Purple and I'm not crazy about Blackmore's night.Too great an artist for me to judge anyway.I'm a lousy amateur guitarist

I think he is great and doesn't get the credit he deserves. And what's with all the Blackmore's Night bashing? Renaissance/Medieval music was his passion from the beginning.

Well, speaking as someone who has only really discovered Deep Purple and Rainbow because that I LOVE his work in Blackmore's Night, I think he is damn good!

The current combination of Renaissance / Folk / Rock music he is playing is a style he has loved since he first started as a musician, and the current band has allowed him to really explore and expand on this genre.

It has also shown that he is more than just a guitarist.
