Rock and roll Autobiographies? |
Anybody have a list of them? I'm really interested in them, and so far the only one I've read is Scar Tissue. Sadly, my library is all out of Slash, Clapton and Ronnie, so I'm curious if there are anymore. I know there are tons, the problem is searching is the hard part. My library is actually pretty big, it's just hard to look. There have been many, some good, some awful. Some that I have read and enjoyed: Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Chuck Berry, Ray Davies (Kinks), Dee Dee Ramone, and Marianne Faithfull. Its not quite an autobiography, but 'Journals' by Kurt Cobain is a collection of his actual journal entries with poems, essays, songs etc. It's a great read. there are tons, you must have a small library. i've read ones about queen and aerosmith and they were both excellent! No One Here Gets Out Alive. I'd definately read "The Dirt" if you are at all interested in Motley Crue and even if you aren't, it just helps. Also Tommy Lee did his own solo book, "Tommyland", which is things from only his perspective most of the time. Both are fantastic reads...but i hope you have a strong stomach :) As far as I know, no one in Queen has written an autobiography; however, read "Queen: As it Began." It's a biography about the band, written by the fan club president. The first half is good! It is out of print, so you might want to inter library loan it if you can. Punk Rock Dad: No Rules, Just Real Life The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell - Marilyn Manson "Petal Pusher" by, Laurie Lindeen (of Zuzu's Petals)! |
