Led Zeppelin after 19 years, Come on lets draw a line some where?

I don't think Plant could carry a tune in a bucket these days

If they still have it, and I think Plant does, let them continue. You would have had Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Mick Jagger, Cliff Richard and the like put down I suppose when they reached their fifties. When you reach your fifties (I'm sure you haven't yet) I'm hopeful you will appreciate enduring talent :-)

It doesn't matter. It's Led Zeppelin. Bob Dylan sounds like cats dying but it's still Bob Dylan.

If i could of afforded it i would of gone.

I will have you know...Robert Plant is still a very good singer...he does not have the same range as 30 years ago but he can still belt out a blues.
Your talking about these guys as though they can't play....what about the Rolling Stones?

i saw robert plant earlier this year at the green man festival, he was surprisingly good.

Its a fresh change to alot of the C**p thats around today.

You'll be surprised :))

Led Zeppelin will never be the same without John Bonham. his kid might play good but lets just hope " The Song Remains the Same"

18.000 peeps would love to hear you say that.that was my era and they will do a brill gig tonight.

Just out of curiosity, how old are you Chesty? That may have something to do with your dislike of the Mighty Zep.

hey these guys are legends of rock they started it all,
i wish i had tickets for tonight sob..

Maybe they are keeping the foot in the door. Who knows, The Who must be getting big bucks, almost daily, from the folks that make the group of CSI shows.

I heard plant this year and it was a honour to hear a legend sing.

Everyone's voice changes as they age, its just unlike a lot of other singers, he hasn't used technology to make him sound like his 30 again.

f.u.pg.f.er.
some of us impetulant youth would kill, sell our souls and do anything to see zep live.
but prehaps bands should break up after a contractually agreed predetermined amount of time.
that or no one over 50 be aloud to preform or record music
goddamn fuktrd

These guys are legends. Many people, including those who weren't even born 19 years ago, know some of their songs.

Will we be able to say the same about most of todays bands like MCR, FOB and Arctic Monkeys? I very much doubt it.

Well he's nearly 60 for god's sake - he can't be expected to, can he.

Same for Jimmy Page, he can't be expected to prance around like he used to at 25.

Use your head, give them a break.

Chesty,

Say your favorite all-time band is Pearl Jam.......they were popular, influential, classic rockers, Hall of Fame, Seattle Sound....etc......

Fast forward to the year 2020.....Eddie Vedder is now like 60 years old.......you're much older too! Wouldn't you get excited? Even though Eddie's voice is not the same.....
they are still rock legends and I think fans of all ages would appreciate their music years down the road......

......but you know.....there would be a young kid in that same year that would criticize Pearl Jam for getting back together...saying they are old, fat, balding and in no shape to play or sing....

i have such a high respect for Led Zep...and I know it's tough when you see your rock heros grow old...but I still respect them and would get excited and go see them..

Out,

G

Heck I would donate a kidney to see Zep in concert. I hope they come to the states, the states need Zep.

Blow it out Your nose sideways and have a great day!

Snorttle
Take that ---- turn it sideways, polish it up real good, and stick it straight up your candy ---!!!!

who cares. they are legends. they will still attract the crowds because they are led zeppelin. they are completely irreplaceable. oh and they still rock just as hard if you ask me. the only difference being instead of taking drugs like cocaine and pot they are taking drugs like viagra and lipitor

Yes let's listen to third rate crap like Good Charlotte instead.

ZEPPELIN RULES !!!!!

Well I wish I had tickets for the gig tonight!

I've just seen the interviews of some of the lucky ones with tickets after the show. Some of them probably weren't even born 19 years ago but came out saying they had just seen the best band EVER.
I saw them in 1975 (jeez I'm old), you don't go just to listen to Zep, you go to experience the moment, it's not just a sound, it's a feeling........and on and on and on

p.s. have you heard Robert Plant singing Gone Gone Gone? it's fantastic

Why seen him have you ???????????????

His vocal range live is phenominal. Yes I have seen him so I think I can comment on the question.

Quality lasts

Zep is not "prog rock". Duh!!

He has nothing to prove. Led Zep are one of the greatest bands of all time. If you don't like them then don't listen to them.

Name one current band that will still be around in 19 months let alone having a comeback after 19 years.

I tend to agree with you. Also, some of the originals in these 70's era bands might have passed on. However, all that being said, the Eagles latest CD is pretty impressive in terms of vocals and the music is pretty tight. Led Z doing rock might be a stretch, because Robt Plant and the boyz were usually screaming high pitches and high energy licks.

I say they just sit back and collect royalties and go off into another direction, but leave their golden age alone.

i concur. i think it's going to be funny to watch. i wonder if Jimmy Page will have a IV on wheels or something. haha.

They are THE most over-rated pile of self important has beens. I hate the fact that the whole country is expected to in awe and eternally grateful that they are wheeling their sorry a$$es out again.
Sad old prog rock has had it's day and it was bad enough the first time round.
(And no I am not a grumpy teenager I am in my 30's)
