Porcupine Tree got nominated for a Grammy?

Well, it's for Best Surround Sound Album.....

A tad bit shocked myself, it seems they really are getting more famous, aren't they?

But still, any thoughts on this PT fans?

I don't give the Grammy's too much weight and/or attention. It is basically just a popularity competition judged by a bunch of out of touch old men.

Still it is good that PT is getting the acclaim they so truly deserve. In a world full of "attitude" and "music posers" they are a breath of sweetly scented fresh air.

Not really a fan per say, but happy they're getting recognition.

I been listening to the Tree here lately, a compilation someone burned of their favorites I guess. I wouldn't know 1 album from another...sorry!! They have their good songs and bad as all bands do, so a Grammy for Best Surround sound huh? Okay, if they earned it, why not?...

Yes, not PT though, but Steven Wilson for mixing it? thats what i heard, and i cannot believe I forgot to bring that one up!
SW is probably hurt it to ways - that he is placed alongside of the other grammy nominees, and that this draws attention to his band. sigh.

Hadn't heard that. As for the recognition, it's a good thing, and they deserve it. As for the scent, taste it leaves behind,... I hope they don't sell out as so many before them did.
And If Steven reads this, I'm really p..d off, the days they weren't known, they played at least once a year in Athens-Greece. Now it's two years since they last came here, ... grrrr!
