Eddie van halen?a genius or what?

Eddie van halen?a genius or what?

He was a great and innovative rock guitarist, but I would not call him a genius.

Or what. Eddie is a great guitarist. Far from genius level. Wrote a few good songs and that is about it. Want a true musical genius, Stevie Wonder now that is a genius.
Cant put Eddie on that plateau.
Is this Wolfgang?

YES SIR.

one of the best guitar players in any generation. just look at all the incredible licks eddie made. erouption and jamies cryin are some of my favorites. and some rapper used the gutar sound on Jamies cryin for his song

Go ahead and jump!

Or What

Innovator of the 2 hand tap (not inventor, but master), and the legendary "brown sound"

a genius in the studio, and an animal on stage

one of the best "brother" acts around

am only young, but i love him, my nextdoor neighbour plays loads of his songs and its like wow!

I wouldn't say he was a genius, but like most of the great guitarists, he built his own unique and definitive style around phrases that were touched on briefly by others before him. Allan Holdsworth is a genius in my opinion, and Zappa was too. Unfortunately, I don't agree with you on this one, although I have a lot of respect for the guy. I love 'Hot For Teacher' though, what a song! And have you heard 'It's About Time'? =oD

what is the 'brown sound?'

He's dumber than a solar powered flashlight

a what

He's the best!

Awesome videos!

No way, just a very proficient guitarist. Great music is not just about how many notes you can play in one second.

Genius My Hole!

Was an amazing guitarist/musician. He had such an amazing sound with his trills and hammer ons/off. Pure genuis, and an insperation to me when i was growing up playing guitar.
However there was also Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Dave Murray, Kirk Hammet. Slash. All had an individual sound.
Genius in his genre? Yes. Genius now, probably not.

Hermin Li, Phil Demmel, Michael Amott, Dimebag Darrel (r.i.p), to only name a few are more of a genius of our time.

hear those strings talk.

no doubt about it genius-he has such a recognisable style
