What is with all these singers in trendy "emo" and "pop punk" bands?

They sound like girls!!!! its ridiculous. And it's not like they "have good range". I mean, Dexter from the Offspring has a great range, but he sounds like a man the whole time. These guys are ******* ridiculous.

The Offspring are a good band and they're one of the only pop-punk rock bands i listen to and yes other bands in these categories do sound fuckingg ridiculous

I'm totally with you on that Offspring thing...however, Emo is the trend nowadays...and much like any other music trend, they have certain patterns to follow...it's still freedom of expression, much like 80's punk with singers sounding british, 90's grunge with blue collar twang, and early 2000 nu metal with the screaming...I say let them be...and don't worry, it'll pass...hopefully to a sound of your liking...Kerrang! :)

I agree with you, MCR and FOB have these images they could easily be mistaken for women, yet women find them attractive

Ok i have to admit there are some but My Chemical Romance sounds nothing like girls. MCR RULEZ! But Fall Out Boy sounds like girls.

ugh..maybe some people like that stuff (like myself) sorry if I find it disgusting when guys have ginormous muscles that make them look like they could break you when they give you a hug. and yes, I find some members of FOB and MCR attractive. They do have good range and, in my opinion, if you don't like it then don't listen to it

It really works for some bands; a lot of their music is based on the high falsettos.

For example, Coheed and Cambria's lead singer has a higher range than MCR or Fall Out Boy.. But his music is still really good..

maybe you just have bad taste in music...and Patrick Stump or Gerard Way don't sound like girls! they can just sing falsetto!
