What is the name of the classic rock song that goes...?

"so cynical...critical...responsible" and part of the song says that he asks himself at night "who am I?" I just heard it on the radio yesterday and I could barely make out the lyrics...but the beat was kind of unusual and I liked it. Anyone know who sings it?
