Do guitar amplifiers get damaged easily?(solid state amps)Marshall? |
Do guitar amplifiers get damaged easily?(solid state amps)Marshall? Solid state amps are generally more durable for a number of reasons. First, they lack the fragile glass vacuum tubes (or valves, as they're known in the UK) that give tube amps their sound but also make them delicate, especially during transportation. Secondly, they're often decked out with things like steel bolts or metal grill covers in an attempt to sell them, but which end up serving as relatively good shielding. just the head mainly, especially if its a tube head. those are glass tubes. also there are tweeters in the cabs. so yeah treat your **** right. Solid state amps are pretty durable but it's hard to find one that sounds good. I Have a mesa rectifier I play out a lot it's tube and it's durable a heck. Get a tube amp. If they break they are easily fixed for cheap and sound way better. Buy the Marshall 50-Watt solid state series, and you won't go wrong. Don't buy Fender because the knobs get loose on them . if you are picking them up and throwing them around, then yes, i would say so I have a Marshall Stack and I haven't had any problems with it so far. I have found that Marshall is extremely durable because I have a little Marshall practice amp and I have beaten it around so much I'm surprised it still sounds the way it does which is like it did the first day I got it. the first guy was right, though. just treat your stuff right, and you wont have to worry about how durable it is. watch out if it is a tube amp- otherwise you can drop them and they will be ok. They are tough and built to take the punishment of road use- constantly being bumped around on trucks, stage building etc. |
