....another 2 minutes of my life i've lost on an MCR question...

bad tab. nobody could play it unless they know the song. The numbers refer to the fret you play for each string. If numbers are stacked on top of each other then you play them together to make a chord.

The numbers stand for what fret to play.
and then on the left side where it says EADGBE that's the string. The Low E is the biggest string. The A is the second biggest string and so on to E the highest string.

It's extremely easy.
