Is there any piece of rock memorabilia that you think is worth $48,000? |
Maybe it's because I don't have an extra $48,000 laying around and collecting dust, but I can't imagine shelling it out for a lock of John Lennon's hair. Don't get me wrong, John is a rock legend...I just...I don't know. LOL...I appreciate that, Mike. Unless if was a private performace from some band that I love, nah... I would spend a pretty penny for signed guitars from certain people, but not $50,000... That's a house down payment if you ask me, lol. Well if I was rich I would probably buy some rock stars' cars, like Ozzy just auctioned off. The charred remains of Hendrix's strat from the '67 Monterey Pop Festival. If I had 50,000 dollars laying around, I'd probably buy a signed guitar or something. Seems more practical than hair. I don't know, maybe its just me... jimi hendrix guitar or jimmy paige guitar. any great guitarist guitar i would spend that much on but especially those two Completely honest here, I tried to figure out a way to jokingly say that I'd invest $48K in the undergarments of a few particular female artists, but no matter how tongue in cheek or "ha-ha" funny it was supposed to be, it just came out creepy. Well, Billy Joel is my fave artist but there's nothing that he has / has used that I would pay that sort of money for. Though I did once pay over 拢300 for a signed copy of a rare album. I agree with you totally. I can't believe how people can spend that much. Recently a fan paid $83,000 I think for 2 tickets to Led Zeppelin's reunion. At a time like Christmas, I honestly think that money should go somewhere that needs it. If I had so much just lying around I would give most of it to charity and keep a bit. $48,000 on a lock of hair is ludicrous so I would save the money. I would try and use the money to fund a reunion tour for Operation Ivy. But, because I am funding the tour, they have to let me come on stage and sing a new song at each destination (just background vocals or something). So, basically, I'm paying 50k for pictures of Me on stage with Operation Ivy. One of Dimebag's signed guitars that he actually played,oh yeah ANY original recording from Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon". Worth more than 48k. Well, it better be. My dad has a huge collection of Elvis signed records and apparently...that will eventually be my inheritence. But I would not spend that much on memorabilia! if i was rich enough to be able to spend 48 thou on a lock of hair, then i wouldn't deserve to be rich because that is just INSANE!! come to think of it.... i actually would. that is, if the rock memorabilia was a lamborghini a rock god owned, cuz then i'm gettin a damn good deal!! Yeah... I'll take the 10' Eddie that comes on stage during the Iron Maiden concerts, would make a nice piece in my foyer... I'd rather have him in his mummy outfit from the Powerslave tour.. Let me phrase it this way. Imagine if Gerard was the main protagonist from that two girls and a cup video. If one of his brainwashed legions were willing to cough up $48,000 for the full "cup", then there's the answer. Anything can have value to it based on what someone is willing to pay for it, no matter how worthless (and disgusting) it might be in reality. id like to by the (pig) from pink floyds concerts. ya know the one thatcomes out flying when they play one of these days. it has the lazer eyes and thenid have each member sign it..if i had money laying around thats what id buy.. The bat carcass that Ozzy bit the head off of ! If I had money lying around, I definately spend it on some GREAT rock memorabilia. I can't see it for Lennon's hair, no but for say Jimmy Page's Gibson Doubleneck, or the Fender Stratocaster Clapton used on Layla sure. That would be worth it Courtney Love's virginity but I don't think such a thing ever really existed. |
