Guitar Exercises?

Can anyone help me please?

I play guitar as much as I can, but when i play, sometimes my pick misses the strings. I start off slow and work my way up, but when i get fast, I miss the strings

Could anyone please tell me any exercises i could do to cope with speed picking?

Thanks =)

Work on these exercises and work on any others you can find. Learning new exercises will increase your picking abilities as well as forcing you to concentrate more on your picking. Once you're forced to concentrate on your picking and you do it over and over it will be come second nature to you and you'll automatically hit the strings without thinking about it.

Most of all....be patient.....it takes time to become proficient at most things.

Good luck to ya!

Try using your pinkie on your pick hand as a anchor. Just simply keep it touching the guitar just below the strings, and that should be a guide to control your picking, and you should have plenty of reach to pick the top strings. I have small hands, and it works for me, and no its not true what they say about small hands.

Jeff Beck used to just start off with notes slow and gradually pick up speed from there,, and go up and down the neck
