Have you ever noticed that the people who say they hate labels are often the ones who fall under one?

well, i dont believe in labels. i feel that if ppl need 2 call othrs 'punk' 'emo' 'goth' 'prep' etc, it cuz they dont want 2 b made fun of themselves or sumthin. i only 'label' ppl wen im joking around with my frends tho. or if some1 is being a u-kno-wut so i label them 'pain-in-my-asz', but it doesnt last long cuz i feel guilt and i take it bak.

i am labeled all the time. at first i was 'gothic aya' but ppl found out some things ive done in the past and started calling me 'emo' i dont mind if my frends jokingly call me 'emo' or 'goth' cuz their my frends and i kno they dont mean it, but now evry1 in the school, even ppl who dont kno my real name, call me 'emo'. its not 'hey aya' now its 'o, its the emo grl'......i dont let it get 2 me tho, cuz i kno that if those ppl need 2 call me that, they obviously hav no respect....so basicly bak 2 ur question, yes, most ppl who R labeled h8 labels cuz we kno from expierience that their not worth it...

huh? why does it matter..people just want to be different or fit in..but really we all are the same we just think and look different. Labels help people feel like they fit in with maturity these people will find themselves...Im 20 and I learn new things about myself everyday...its the journey of life, get used to it.

Yeah I have noticed... either they are being hypocritical or like both labels and other things. Is labels all they wear?

Clearly the girls before me didn't understand the question...anyways, the answer is fairly simple. Everyone will eventually fall under a lable for a couple different reasons. One, they will get offered a contract for a large sum of money, and they will take it because nobody hates money. That's what they're in it for, regardless of what they say. The other possibility is that they will fall under a lable because they will start their own out of spite for the major labels. NOFX and Dave Matthews are two great examples of this. Either way, everyone who's any good will eventually sign with or start their own label.

I don't think that's true. I think labels suck but only because they fit you into a nice little box where you can't do anything different because it's not what an emo/scene/hardcore/punk/ghetto/etc kid might do. Personally, I don't label myself because I like punk but I don't consider myself punk, I listen to hardcore but I love Regina Spektor so what kind of "hardcore kid" would I be then? I rather say I listen to a certain type of music and leave it at that. So when people ask me why I'm wearing a Regina Spektor t-shirt they wont' ask questions. LOL jk

labels are just looks, so people can be labled, but just for the way they look, not for who they are, people that hate labels, hate labels. everyone falls under a label..der!
