Rockstar by Nickelback!?

please explain the songs meaning and the issue it is speaking out against..

It's the stereotypical life of someone trying be a rock star, in which that life is now mostly gone 10 years ago. The life involved drugs, sex, and money and too much of it will kill the young rock star.

Its the rap of rock

ask the band

its uh...stupid...its nickelback...

It's all a metaphor about how horrible the band is and how they should be dragged behind a race horse for all eternity.

It ranks in the top 3 of the WORST songs EVER recorded.

Excuse me, while I go throw up.

EMT

its stating all the stereotyped crap that all of us average americans think rockstars live like.

and in a way, theyre making fun of it.

Rockstar by Nickelback is just a song...

Talking about how he wants to be a rockstar with a big enough bathroom to play baseball in and all the other stuff he wants to do when he's a rockstar.

And how many rockstars/ celebs are on drugs and have drug dealers or many of them stay skinny by not eatting.

Like the celebs on drugs like Lindsay Lohan and the ones who don't eat like Mary Kate Olsen.

Just simple stuff like that.

I'm pretty sure it's about wanting the advantages that "stars" have. Us normal people have to work for what we get, and apparently, that guy is sick of it. He wants to become rich and famous and have all the free food and girls that come his way.

Well, the song sucks so bad.
So, no I will not tell you!
But, I've heard it before and they TRY to deliver a message saying that everyone just wants to be a Rock star but, they really don't know how it's really like I guess?
I really don't know.
but, I'm getting these ideas because I have heard it before.
I felt like fighting someone.
It's that horrible.

I don;t think that it's speaking out about anyhting, I think it is glorifying the "rockstar" lifestyle.

It's as simple as the lyrics.....we all want the rock star/celebrity life.

I prefer the song rockstar by "The Descendents" - that's a much better song.

i guess that they want to be rockstars so that they can get alot of money and what they can do with that money

The song details the stereotype that most people have about the life of a rockstar. Chad assumes the role of a person wanting to get to that life. It also talks about what people will do just to become famous, "I'll trade this life for fortune and fame, I'll even cut my hair and change my name."

well my interpretation was at first that they think all those stupid young tiny boppers in hollywood are now looked at as "rockstars" and how the real rock star generation is being taken for granted and thrown away, thats what i thought, but since then that theory of mine has been repeatedly confirmed, they told the public what it was really about and they said it was because everyone comes up to them and says how theyd love to be a rock star and how the band is just wallowing in it and sucking up the glory, i used to loath nickelback and i though id give them a chance but theyre just as poppy and shallow as everyone in that video
