Queen Vs. The Beatles Green Day, Def Leppard, and Whitesnake aren't what I would call legendary. Possibly Guns N' Roses as well.
Anyway:
U2. Green Day sold out for a more mainstream sound. Punk rock bands don't do that. U2 is great with guitar delay and laidback basslines. Bono is a good singer but I don't like him too much.
Led Zeppelin. Both are influential and I love both. But I'm gonna have to go with Led Zeppelin though. Better writing and arranging, but Black Sabbath is one of the best metal bands for sure!
Don't like any of them, but I had to choose, it'd be Def Leppard.
