Are the Verve and the Verve Pipe two separate bands?

I am working on my music library. I can't remember and I am not a music fanatic. I don't mean to offend anyone or their music genres.

Yes, they are different bands. The Verve was a British rock band formed in 1989. The Verve's most popular song was "Bittersweet Symphony" and the band is supposedly releasing a new album sometime in 2008. The Verve Pipe is an American band formed in 1992. Verve Pipe's most popular song was "The Freshman." They still have concerts.
