Alright. Time to settle this. Linkin Park's new album "Minutes To Midnight". Hit or miss?

I'm torn. I'm a diehard LP fan, have been from day one. M2M is just such a huge sudden change.... ballads? Mike Shinoda singing? Minimal screaming from Chester? "Given Up", "No More Sorrow" and "What I've Done" are the saving grace of an otherwise poor effort in my view. I love this band to bits, but I just can't get adjusted to their new sound.

I agree with you. I'm still upset by the fact that they have left it all behind somewhat. But every band needs change I guess. But sometimes bands change for the better and i can't say that LP hit that mark. I've been such a fan of them since forever and i don't know what to think. Was my first favorite band now just not good enough?

i feel the same as you! i'm torn between loving it because i do like a lot of slower rock stuff, but at the same time i loved the old linkin park too....so it seems like i would like them more since the cd has both, but it's just not the same.

i agree fully with you. Ive loved LP since the beggining with songs like Crawling and One Step Closer, and all those good songs but i cant stand their new sound. It is terrible. I still bought it thinking it would be ok but i only listened to it one time and after that i dont even touch it. I just hope they go back to how they used to sound cause i dont like Mike singing and i miss Chester screaming

i'm a huge LP fan too,and seriously it was a bit of a sup rise for me as well when the album came out ,i thought it'll be the u know the same old rockin LP but this was a shock their theme is kinda global, but i agree with u about shinoda and chester i mean where r the rapping parts and the rocking parts .well i won't complain cuz this albums kinda ok and anywayz i can't hate LP they r the best they rule,but i miss the old LP

i havent gotten their new album yet. but ive hear what ive done i think its great and if there music is changing ill still be there to support them no matter what.
ill accept anykind of music they sing and play.
even if they go dance or country. lol

It didn't do it for me. I was really excited about this album coming out and thought I'd be paid in full for my patience. Instead they come back with a pile of garbage that only they were proud of. It was like they were sticking their fingers up to their die-hard fans and saying "Well we like it, so screw you!" It was a waste of time and money.
Mike Shinoda should just give up, Chester should crawl back under what ever rock his wife left him and when they decide to take it seriously again, come back with an awesome record. Not this half- assed, lame attempt. We all know they can do faaaar better!!

i have been a LP fan since In the End was first played on the Radio, I have all the cd's including the new one, M2M, and honestly I dont think they did a great job, but some of the songs are good, and sound a bit similar to Hybrid Theory, have you listened to Shadow of the Day, Bleed it Out(has more screaming from Chester), Valentine's Day, High Voltage, Hands Held High or In Pieces?

i think its a miss. i mean linkin park is so awesome and has such a large fanbase that enough people are going to like it to make it successful, but i really miss their sound from meteora and hybrid theory. they were so innovative and awesome sounding then. i mean i guess u cant really blame them for trying something new, but i dont think im alone in saying the old linkin park was better
