Ok i got to know something about a c.d i bought?

i bought a metallica c.d for a guy who's 23 years old for Christmas. hes my older sisters live in boyfriend. anyway i also bought him a korn c.d i know he likes rock and and stuff but since i know nothing about rock music and only country i gotta ask is metallica a rock band?

LOL, some might get into a debate of semantics since Bob Rock took over their production work, but yes they're still officially a rock band.
