why do so many rush album cover designs have a pentagram on it? The symbol is not an actual pentagram. It's referred to as the "starman" logo.
The picture was shown on the 2112 album and corresponds to the 2112 suite which is an epic story about a man who discovers a guitar but is rejected by his people.
Neil Peart (drummer and lyricist for Rush) explained in 1982 that "All it means is the abstract man against the masses. The red star symbolizes any collectivist mentality" I guess it's just their thing, you know like kiss and all the crazy make-up, and costumes, or Disturbed has a logo, G N' R has their own logo, Lot's of bands do it. |
