kurt cobain. 10th grade lunch

i dont know

wasn't even though of yet......

o.o

Well, I never knew Jimi Hendix and John Lennon were dead until now. Wow, where have I been?

I was one year old when kurt died. Don't know what I was doing...

Not alive

Janis Joplin wasn't a guitar hero, and neither were Morrison or Elvis!!

JH, JM and JJ - I wasn't born.
Elvis - I was 2, so probably was rolling round in the lounge watching the news
John Lennon - I was five, and ditto. I actually remember the news report about that, it was very depressing...and a very dark night, as I recall
Kurt Cobain - heard it on the radio in my flat, waiting for my friends to arrive. I remember that day because it was April and it had been snowing...

Elvis Presley -1977 while visiting my sister
Jimi Hendrix - can't say on the internet
Jim Morrison - at the time, in English class
Janis Joplin- at the skating rink with my older sister who absolutely freaked when she heard the news (she's a 60's wastoid)
John Lennon - December 8th, 1980 - in the study reading a book by Piers Anthony. I then went out for a walk. A very long walk.
Kurt Cobain - In bed sleeping.

Elvis was a "guitar hero"? Like Randy Rhoads?

I wasn't old enough to remember the first 4...but I do a great impression of their deaths...cough/ puke, cough/puke, snort/cough/puke, I vaguely remember Lennon's murder...I was around for Kurt Cobain's suicide...kaboom... I watched the memorials on the tube...as Courtney read a letter calling him an "asshole"...

Hendrix was the only guitar hero on this list, and while he had the physical ability (large hands) to create a new style of play, his body of work, and his talent, pales in comparison to that of the late Joe Pass. Since all these tweeks on your list foolishly, or carelessly ended their own lives (except J.L.), dtgp did not mourn them nearly as long as those who truly loved them. In other words, dtgp did not place a greater value on these people's lives than he does on any other human being that he does not know. dtgp does confess to enjoying all of their music to this day.

I was 18 and about to graduate. Was hangin out with my sister when I heard. I was shocked, but I wasn't devastated. I had a few Nirvana albums but I was more into Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots and Alice in Chains.

I wish I could've been alive to hear Janis, Jimi or the lizard king though. Now those were the true tragedies in my opinion.

was only alive when cobain died, but i didnt have a clue as to who he was, or had even heard of him at the time...i ws only 7 at the time (it was 94 right)

was not born when the others died, but i hated Nirvana so it was not a big deal to me sorry.

I wasnt even born yet man

elvis I was watching tv and, my friend called me and, told me I couldnt believe it a very sad day for me.. I was too young to remember hendrix joplin or morrison ... all the same year I believe 1970... i was only 4 but, I was just getting home from school in 1982 when I heard about Randy Rhoads.. just bought the diary of a madman album.. and, I was on the road with a band ,, when I heard about stevie ray vaughan .. another sad day for me.. john lennon I was getting ready for school .. 1980 interesting question

Elvis-Wasn't Alive
Jimi-Wasn't Alive
Jim-Wasn't Alive
Janis Joplin-Wasn't Alive
John Lennon-Wasn't Alive
Kurt-2 years old can't remember

ate my dad's house. he knows every thing.(but math)

WHERES DIMEBAG DARRELL & RANDY RHOADS?????

1. elvis isn't dead
2. heard about cobains in 2nd grade after school

the only one I know is kurt Cobain. I just remember coming home from school( I was in 5th grade I believe) and it was on MTV that he was dead. my sister and I cried and cried. I remember running to my friends house who lived like 2 miles from me just so upset by it. and I didnt even like nirvana but I was upset because my sister was upset.

I remember where I was when I heard about Stevie Ray Vaughan. I had went to the concert the night before at Alpine Valley, in Wisconsin.
I got out of bed the next morning and turned on the TV only to hear that he had been in a helicopter accent after the concert and was dead. I was devastated, I screamed and then I cried.

For the first 5 I wasn't born yet {though who knows what I was doing in my last life!}.

KC ~ no idea and don't care.
Sorry, but as I'm not a fan he's of no importance to me ~ and I certainly *wouldn't* call him a 'guitar hero'.

And as others have said, Morrison and Joplin weren't even guitarists, and though Elvis could play, he was famed as a singer.
John Lennon wasn't as recognisable a guitarist as George Harrison {I was at home and heard about his death on the 10pm news}.
So the only true 'Guitar Hero' there is Jimi Hendrix.
