Velvet Revolver. What are they like?

I am a big G'N'R fan but seeing as I liked Slash's role in the band best I thought that I might try Velver Revolver. But I don't have the internet so can't downlaod and don't know anyone who has any of the songs so I want some idea of what they are like before I buy a CD. Can anyone help?

Well, VR is similar to GNR, especially since they have Slash. The lead singer has a totally different sound than Axl Rose, but is very good. They have two cds, Contraband and Libertad. They're both good but Contraband seems slightly more rockin than Libertad. I would recommend checking them out, I think you'll like them.

Awful panto band

If you're a Slash fan, you might like Velvet Revolver, as their are a lot of songs that have nice guitar riffs and fast playing. However, Scott Wieland does a poor job of replacing Axl, and I think that as a whole they have an entirely different attitude than G'N'R. G'N'R was about doing something revolutionary, where I feel that Velvet Revolver are the members of Guns N' Roses living off of that memory to make a very mediocre band.

its 100% the Guns & roses sound.

I think they rock

It's pretty much Guns N' Roses with Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots as the lead singer. If you like GNR, you may like VR a bit. They're probably one of the best hard rock bands at this moment...and proof that good rock is still out there.

Seen them live and they rock got all the album, personally i love them :) slither and dirty little thing of the contraband album rock. The second album is pretty rockin aswell not as hard thou.

They're ok,I'm a huge Gn'R fan and also a fan of most of Slash's other work but I wouldn't rave about them,an average rock band-nothing more nothing less.
