now im REALLY heartbroken.
i cried so much. im still in shock. this is unbeleiveable. NO!!!!!!!!!!
*flings self onto dagger* THEY LOST!!!!!
they're still gonna record an album tho. i know it. vinster: i agree, i dont want one of those sucky bands left. but lod should have won, at least they cover iron maiden! at least they're metal. This is sad.
Music should be about writing passionate, original songs...not ability to do VERY OLD COVERS!
I'm a 27 years old "dinosaur" and I still had more fun watching these guys than any other group.
It was a blatant insult they forced these youngsters to perform Queen against much older groups who were actually around when Queen was popular. IE if TLOD was indeed bored of practicing Queen and didn't spend as much time on it as their own tracks (and that's why their Queen "we will rock you" performance wasn't great), I kind of don't blame them.
Yes, they didn't do a great job at the cover but, no, it was not a justifiable reason to throw them off a show (if they, say, screwed up on a song they wrote that would have been justified, but they never did that nor would they likely have).
Denver Mile High Orchestra was your overly-traditional big-band group, The Clarks sounded strained...none of these groups I found really had half the drive Light of Doom did but got by b/c they were more "technically perfect"...but who cares? To me rock is about passion and risk...and Light Have Doom has been pushing the envelope with the power of their vocals, dead-on break-style drumlines, and shred-worthy solos...they are aiming for much higher grounds than the other groups and getting it mostly right...they should be getting more credit. Well they were too young! and pretty green too. Still , though i didn't care for the little snots , i hate the 3 choices left , and you know some lame a## country band is gonna win.... Yeah weak right? They were way great musicians but in all honesty they couldn't match up to the covering ability of the others, despite that they were my personal favorite. Actually I'm rooting for the Clark Brothers now, I enjoy their interpretations of classic songs.
I know what an un-metal thing to say right? But yeah, it's how I feel. i was sad, but thats ok, they will still get SOMETHING...so don't be too sad, I suggest covering up that dagger...or putting it away I was shocked also....I don't see Denver and the MHO winning tho'...Light of Doom being as young as they are still are a good group to make it as far as they did in the competiton I know, i was so mad! they were pretty much the best band in the competition, but at least they made it as far as they did.
