Have you ever met your favourite band/artist in person?

How long did you speak to them for? Did you get anything autographed? Did you get a photo?

Share your stories!

Yes! Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden ( . . .Of course) He was, would you believe, in a small quiet pub in Brixton just before the Killswitch Engage gig last year. I only needed to use the loo, and there he was, so I did a few tequilas and got up the courage to speak to him. He was really lovely and down to earth.
I've also met all of Killswitch Engage, one of my favourite bands ever who signed my gig ticket for me! Exit Ten, a small english band who I had few drinks with, the God that is Corey Taylor, and wait for it . . . DAVID HASSELHOFFFFF!!
He was doing a signing in a Walworths store and I just couldn't resist meeting the Hoff. (Not a band or anything like that, but still pretty f*****g fabulous!

Oh . . . and I went with a freind who won a competition to meet Gym Class Heroes. Crappy music but really nice guys!!!

Yes. Several times. And even though I am a stagehand and meet famous people all the time, I ALWAYS get totally stagestruck and behave like a complete idiot every time I meet him!
It's Mike Patton, from Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, Tomahawk, peeping Tom, (and all the other bands that he is involved in!)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Patton
There is a picture under the "pictures" link on my Myspace profile of Mike Patton, my ex-roommate, and myself.

I look like a kid in a candy shop and he looks like a deer caught in the head lights.
Poor guy.

Cheers,

Christina

Yes I have met my favorite band Mushroomhead a couple times after shows at a restaurant and talked for a half hour before they had to leave. Despite their angry look they are pretty nice guys. I had them sign the ticket for the show no photo though I didn't have a camera with me.

Briefly met Johnny Winter in 1971 as he was leaving The Warehouse in New Orleans after a show, but his management was hustling the band into a cab. He was my hero.

I've met Eric Johnson, a blues/rock guitarist.
I have an autographed copy of Venus Isle and Ah Via Musicom now. =)

girls best dream come truee

Well ive met Dave Grohl of Nirvana/FF, but i really wanted to meet Kurt Cobain!

: )

I've met Joseph Arthur twice, Gordon Downie of The Tragically Hip twice, and Lemmy from Motorhead- three of my absolute musical heros. Lemmy was hilarious (of course). When I told him of my total respect for the fact that he never sold out, he said, between sips of Wild Turkey and Coke: "Well, nobody ever offered me enough money!"
I've also met the drummer from AC/DC (polite chap), all of the Cult (Les the drummer is a great dude, Astbury was, well, ASSbury), Slash (I served him on my bar all night - he had a stripper on each arm), Mick from LA Guns (he got me into the AC/DC-LA guns show), Todd Rundgren (at a beer tent in Munich Oktoberfest, he produced my friend's band), Big Mountain (reggae band, also in Oktoberfest- they gave me a chunk of red ha$$h), Bruce Kulick from KISS, when my band played the Whiskey in LA, AND... Ron Jeremy!- he was sitting at the table next to us in the Rainbow in Hollywood.
I used to play in a band, and i was also a bartender for many years.

Dani Filth.

obviously, not yet...

Yes,in 2006 at Rock Am Ring I met Metallica. They were so rad and of course they gave me autographs. It was great!I also saw another fan jamming with Kirk.It was amazing for me to see them,a dream come true.

Yes, When I used to be a huge "Gene Loves Jezebel"
fan back in the day. I met them at a small gig they were playing at Chillers in Hermosa Beach,Ca back in 1996.
I even got an autographed Cd too. I did get to take pix though, but still. This is was cool enough for me to chat with Jay Aston for a couple of minutes. He was drinking a beer and playing pool with the other bandmates. This was after the gig was over.

Yeah, I showed up late to warped tour about 4 years ago and this guy was leaving and he pulled me out of line to hock me his backstage lanyard for $10!
I got to meet my heros NOFX, they were drunk and made fun of me for liking guys (them). I also got to stand in the back on stage with Bad Religion and Fat Mike ran past us (still drunk) to help Brett sing "No Control"
I ran into guys from NFG and some other bands I didnt really care about but it was still cool

OK heres the story. I went to a Blue October concert and we had walked there from the Hotel. My buddy and his girl friend were with me. (At the time we couldn't drive) Anyway I was at the concert and it was boring no one was moving nothing just silence besides the band. I started jumping and screaming during the songs you could. I was just rocking out (and of course I was front and center) The manager was looking at me and joined me (he had a stage pass duh that's how I knew whom it was) The band pointed at the two of us and we were just rocking out.

Anyway after wards my buddy Chuck his girl friend and I had to walk back to the Hotel. We decided to cut threw a seemingly empty parking lot. Turns out it wasn't empty the tour bus was back there! I ended seeing the manager again as we were trying to avoid being seen.(we didn't do well) I walked over with a sigh and he started talking to me about how I really had gotten the crowd going.

The next thing I know the band comes over and tells me the same thing! It was so great Chuck about died and his girl friend freaked (it's her fave band of all time) It was the coolest thing EVER!!

I WANNA MET PETE WENTZ!!!!!!!!

NOOO, I HAVNT YET!!!!

IM GETTING TO IT!!!!
