What does that mean when people say use your fall setta or whatever it's called in singing??

I don't know how to say it or spell whatever they're saying but they say it on american idol alot. Fall setta or fall ....something ..

how do you spell it or pronounce it?

Falsetto is an unnatural high pitched singing voice used by some singers, Prince comes to mind.

it means you dont use your regular singing voice..

track seven on this card is a good example of "falsetto"

Falsetto is usually a term used with male singers. Since guys voice are about an octave lower than female voice (even when speaking, not just singing). Therefore in order to sing really high notes, the man has to "switch" into his falsetto. It's easier for girls to do this because we have to sing high usually (unless we're really low altos). The simplest way to explain it, is that it's almost like singing through your head. The sound just comes out airy in a sense and not heavy like from your chest.

falsetto ( false) is a term which we have inherited form the old Italian masters from the 16 and 1700s. It has to do specifically with the change that happens in men's voices when they switch over form their full sound to that light high, little kid sound. It seems to very popular nowadays, but it's actually very old.
Women do have a falsetto voice. It's generally known as whistle register, because that's what it sounds like- a thin high whistle. Mariah Carey used to be able to do this with great effect. Some women get to it very easily, some never reach that altitude. that's ok, too. Another term is "head voice" but there differences of opinion what that means, so ask carefully when someone mentions this term, just to avoid misunderstandings.

It means to use your false voice it is above your normal singing range.

Fallsetto (sp). a high singing voice.

Falsetto is a term for the head voice in men. It's what you hear when men sing high (they sound kind of like a woman!). I think it's sexy :)
