How do I increase the length I can carry a note for in singing? |
i can hold it up to about 12 seconds. anyyips and voice training exercises I could do to hold them longer? Well, just holding your breath is not the route you want to go. If you do it the wrong way you could hurt something. A good exercise I found is to breath in slowly for 4 beats then release slowly for 4 beats. Then gradually work the count of releasing up by whatever number works for you. (Example: you could go by 4s until you reach twelve and then go by 1s to improve your breath support.) Practice makes perfect. The more u practice the longer u will be able to hold your breath and hold the note longer just practice just keep holdong the note and it will slowly get longer if you keep doing it Become a choir. A choir can hold a note indefinitely. No need to thank me. :) Try Breathing in Deeper, adn go for Vocal Training. increase lung capacity .. Just sing high songs. I increased my singing range from a high E to a high G# just by singing higher songs Deep breathing exercises try breathing exercises and singing up the scales. also drop your jaw or raise your eyebrows you know improve your facial mucsles. it always helps me, you also might want to take a sip of water before you start singing. well my cousin is a singer and she practices holding her breath for certain amounts of time (strating at small and getting bigger) it exercise your lungs and lets you have a long time inbetween taking each breath, so you can hold a note longer. hope this helps! =) breathe from your stomach Take up some kind of exercise to increase your aerobic capacity. See how long you can hold your breath. Ideally, you should be able to step up and down on a step for one minute and then hold your breath for 1/2 a minute. Try this every morning: sing the a...b...c...etc. and try to get all the way to z. That is one of my warmups in chorus class. Make sure your posture is correct. Believe it or not, it can help, ALOT. It helps your lungs open up to fill up with more air. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart with one foot just slightly in front of the other. Keep your shoulders square and pretend that someone is pulling a string up that is attached to your head. Keep your arms down at your sides, and make sure your hips aren't sticking out. It can help you not to go flat or sharp too! :) Hope I helped! |
