How can you make your voice go to high notes?

I need help reaching high notes for singing..I have a talent show at my school coming up and i wanted to do Flat on the floor my Carrie Underwood ..I am a alto but how can i make my voice go higher?

You are definitely dedicated to your music if you want to sing this song and you are an alto! I am in the middle. I could sing this song. It may feel weird but try to belt it out as much as you can to train your voice to come higher. Or you can go falsetto if you don't want to strain your voice. You can still make as much magic either way. If none of this works, be sure to work as much as possible and even if you've tried your best and it wasn't enough, choose a different song that is as powerful but make it to where you can get you voice to work well on whichever song you choose. Also on most sing-by-yourself tracks, you can choose to make the music at a lower or higher tone. I hope you are able to sing your heart out with this song at your show. If they give out trophies, I hope you get the gold!

open ur upper pallet in ur mouth and besure u are in good posture, and dont push it too hard

Practice, Practice, Practice. You have to train your voice to do that.

Since you are already a singer you must know that a voice coach is the best route, or singing lessons. That's probably the best way to get a greater range.

just keep practicing w/ scales and other warm ups.

and dont force your voice to reach a note it cant. it just wrecks your vocal cords. maybe try changing some of the notes in the song if you're unable to reach them.

use salt to clear your throat. it helps. try it. use ALOT of salt!!! I have done this on the day of my singing competition festival, it took me to first place =) what a happy day. so yea do as i say girl. it helps.

by having a couch or just singing will help but u have to try but dont crack ur voice or u will be very screwed which bring me back to a couch

but i can hit high notes with out a couch no lie its a chrstina mix with mariah thing

just think about singing through the tip of your head... not chest voice. Chest voice is when your chest vibrates and it is very unhealthy. All singers, altos or sopranos should sing in head voice. Also stand up as staright as you can. Breath alot. Some tips for good sing vs. bad singing are

AND DONT SING THRU UR NOSE... IT MAKES EVERYTHING SOUND TERRIBLE TO THE AUDIENCE BUT POP/ ROCK STARISH TO THE SINGER...

you can not make your voice get higher. Maybe when you grow up your voice will get higher. you could get singing listens.

i have a trick that i always use..... you need to REALLy stretch out your cords, and the way to do so is scream just SCREAM like no other, and then your cords will be warmed..and just go up the scale, and try to hit it...

Keep challenging yourself. Singing high isnt going to just HAPPEN one day, you really need to keep working at it. Its like... losing weight, you know? Haha, maybe not....

Definitely keep singing scales. Instead of singing low songs all the time, start broadening your range and singing higher songs that challenge you gradually. It will not help to just sing a really difficult first soprano part to start because you wont get to learn and keep that high range you need to build it.

My voice teacher does this thing with me to sing high stronger. You place your hand in front of your face and you sing into it. You try to place the sound right in your nasal area kindof... you try to get that placement.

You can do it only by training yourself singing various songs.
Singing in the sense its not remembering the song and singing. Its you have to play the song which you like to sing. Hear it carefully for frequent of time, then try to sing with the same pitch along with the player.
Obviously starting with that exercises you will do some mistakes, but dont lose your heart and drop your idea.
Think positive and try with different pitch along with audio songs, its better if you have any video songs.
So that your talent will be more.
