hey, i'm thinking about doing a choir audition but i haven't sung in about 4 years so i have no idea what is appropriate to sing for my audition, which is supposed to be short and a capella. i can sing both alto and soprano, any suggestions? thanks!! I would suggest something like 'The angel gabrielle'. It's a beautiful song, and in England, is listed for associated board grade 5 singing as your acapella piece.
It's really beautiful, simple, shows off the voice and is well known. As you're auditioning to a choir, it's not very appropriate to sing anything that is too loud e.g. opera arias as they require a different voice type. So, choose some choral songs by a composer who has composed choral music, e.g. John Rutter. Good luck for the audition! |
