I want to really be a singer and i have a good voice but my parents expecte me to go to college and get a job?

Go to a college that allows people to major in music. Major in voice (singing). You'll be in college, and you'll be getting training in music. It's a good way to compromise with your parents.

This is tricky you are probley in high school so right now worry about going to college . My reason because getting a record deal is extremly difficult and if it's not possible for you you will still have college and probley a decent paycheak. on the other hand you could become a singer but being a singer is one of the worlds HARDEST jobs right now if you just sing and stand on stage and sing your heart out you will be compared to carrie underwood or even mariah carey so unless you voice is spectacular and your able to withstand constant sore throats then go ahead and make your millons. on the other hand if you want to aim your music at teen then you will defintaly need to dance cause right now people are obssed with dancing and if your a good singer but better dancing you won't have to strain your voice. But you will be compared to PCD ciara and many other artist

College offers you better opportunities if your singing career doesn't quite pan out. A lot of singing (or any type of performing art) is really luck-based, so I think going to college is good. You can still pursue singing while in college, so if you make it big, you still don't need to finish college.

go do school plays and go to a local drama or singing competetion... and colleges will see this. they will like it. or you can major on music... and sing. just go for what you bealive in
