What are the consequences singing with stiff throat?

This usually happen to me in the morning.

I am a little confused by what you mean as in stiff throat. If you mean a feeling of tightness...it might be an onset of a sore throat or sinus drainage.

Consequences? Well.....you have to be careful as to what it feels like when you utter notes. If you don't feel any pain as you warm up, do these warm ups slowly. Don't plow into any warm ups if you have a tickle in your throat. If you begin to feel discomfort, stop singing. If you continue to sing with your throat hurting, you may not cause permanent damage, but your vocal chords could be swollen. Singing with swollen vocal chords or irritation will eventually lead to temporary loss to the voice. Now if you keep forcing it after months and months, it could get worse. You don't want that. So if you feel that discomfort, take a vocal rest for a couple of days. Then try again.

If it is just a matter of inconsistency with notes in the morning and your throat seems "clogged", that is normal. There is all kinds of crud and things of that nature on your vocal chords when you wake. We vocalize to get rid of all those crackles. Warm ups (especially in the morning) aren't supposed to sound glorious by no means. Eventually, the more you warm up the more your voice will adjust to where it is supposed to be. So if this sounds like you, don't worry about that. Just keep vocalizing the crud away, and you will be fine.

Other than that, protect yourself and try to stay healthy the best way you can.

u might sing crackly and dry with a lot of breath. this is usually bad for your vocal cords. to prvent this in the mornin i suggest not to drink milk bc it will make your throat fuzzy. u should drink hot tea or Throat Coat to sooth it

singing in the morning, huh. I used to have that problem (going to competitions-you gotta leave early) I would warm up my vocal cords in the car on the way. I would also drink hot tea with honey helps to coat the vocal cords so that if you havee to strain to get to the notes you dont develope noids( caluse like areas) on your vocal cords. Noids will make is extremely hard to hit whatever notes are in that area of your vocal cords. Good luck! WARM UP YOUR CORDS 1ST!! lol

losing your voice! always warm up! never forget that i lost my voice on a choir trip in england!

Ummm, if you sing with a stiff throat, you can damage your voice. If you continue to do that..., you could permanently damage it,...., so I wouldn't try.
