I'll just say... sing something totally different from anyone else. The last show i went to, ll the girls sang country songs or ballads.. BORING! do something more uptempo, maybe with some rock if your voice can handle it.

That depends upon your voice and what your taste is like in music. Sing something you enjoy hearing and that will make it easier. If your voice is soft, perhaps something like "Wind beneath my wings. You can also pick a song for its own value as being original - Like Gloomy Sunday - the Hungarian suicide song - which many people have never heard. If you like country, try Stand by your man. If you have a lot of range in your voice, you can try something like No come compares to you, but a lot of people can not sing that because of the high notes. Good Luck to you and hope you win!!

Depends on what your range is, and what kind of song you want to do. And if the lyrics need to be "safe" and school-approved. My actual favorite songs might not fit those categories, or else they require more than one singer :) (One - U2, Pain - Three Days Grace, Are We the Waiting - Green Day, From Yesterday - 30 Seconds to Mars, Time After Time - Ozzy Osbourne... etc.)

Almost any Christina Aguilera's songs would be good.

I would avoid all the repetitive commercial stuff they do on these talent shows and also anything that would pass for a karaoke 'favourite'. Something melodious but maybe a little different.
