my voice is very ehh... breathy and i cant seem to hit high or low notes and im a girl im 14 and i know my voice wont change anymore so i really want to order the Singing Success program but do you think it will work,
i dont really know where i can find any singing instructers where i live and i really dont want to waste my money on bad teachers so id rather get this Let me start by saying this. Whoever told you your voice will not change anymore lied. Your voice will change well into your 30's. As a matter of fact, your singing voice will not really settle until your late 30's early 40's, even as a female. So that breathy sound may just be a part of your maturity level in your singing voice. Eventually the more you study and the more you age, this will change. Don't be down on yourself over that. I can hit notes I didn't dream of hitting at your age now, and I am....well...I am old enough to know different. LOL!
I would be leary of the Singing Success program. The problem with these programs is that they don't cater to the particular singer at all. Its kind of like learning how to drive without an experienced driver in the car. You can learn that permit manual all day, but to get behind the wheel is a whole different story in terms of a performance.
These programs could have you working on things you don't need to work on, or it could tell you to do something and you overexaggerate what they suggest. Since they can't see you, they can't help you. Not only that, you may have a particular genre you would like to sing. They can't help you on that end either.
Yes there are bad teachers out there. That is why you check their credentials and you have a mock lesson first before spending a bunch of money in their studio. The likelyhood of you continuously running into bad teachers is highly UNLIKELY. If you want basic tips, most voice teachers could help you move into that aspect. A good voice teacher will not judge you, and trust me. You will click with that teacher immediately if they are for you. If not, move on. No hard feelings. Just don't go back. It would be of better service to you to find a voice teacher. Singing Success will probably in the end cause you more of a headache than a human being not trying to make a quick buck.
IF YOU JUST HAVE TO find a program and not a human, I would instead suggest ordering David Jones' CD for beginning singers on www.voiceteacher.com . I wouldn't make it my only aid, but as a professional who has worked in this field, I know for a fact he is one of the BEST voice teachers who has graced the planet. He has the experience, knowledge, and the papers to back it up. He is your best bet if you MUST find one. Most of the others are just a scheme for people to make a quick buck on unsuspected singers without experience. As a person who has been in the singing field for YEARS, most of them just DON'T WORK. So don't give up on your singing goals, just be wise about how you improve your instrument. Your voice is not done changing. Your voice (especially your singing voice) will continue to develop well into your 20s or 30s.
I seriously doubt the validity of programs such as Singing Success. It seems like a much bigger waste of money than investing in lessons with a voice teacher.
If you live near a college with a music department, you can call the music department and ask if any of their faculty do private voice lessons or if the school knows of people who do lessons. There are oftentimes students who are nearing graduation who are looking for their own students (sometimes for a class and sometimes just to earn extra money).
If nothing else, I'd suggest joining a church or community choir. Both will charge you almost no money (churches generally don't charge you anything at all) and will give you some training. Try Singing Coach Unlimited for $123.00. It really works! I use it and now I am perfect-pitch and on my songs, I take my breaths perfectly. This will help you more than heck. |
