I'm entering Britain's got Talent...
And my breathing isn't the greatest, whilst I can sing pretty well...
Any suggestions you lovely people?! Remember that a good breath doesn't come from your lungs necessarily, it comes from your diaphragm (lower stomach). Your lower belly should move out when you take in a deep breath, and should move in as you let the breath out. If you can take a very deep breath without making your shoulders move up, you are probably doing it right.
Then, when you are singing, think of pushing the words out of your mouth from your diaphragm- your lower belly does all of the work- not your throat, not your upper chest/lungs. http://www.vocalist.org.uk/ is the best online singing help page on the net in my opinion. Check it out it will help at least one thing that runs through your mind at any givin time about singing. Also check this video out on youtube this guy describes using the diaphram to a T. http://youtube.com/watch?v=U3vpuOJsIks
If you get a chance you can also listen to my music at www.myspace.com/70sfunk omg! congrats!
If you have practice music that u read from, you can make breathe marks (the little apostrophes above the measures) where u think you should breathe. and try to breathe through your mouth subtly. |
