I really want to sing songs by Janice Joplin but I heard that she was starting to lose her voice? |
Because some of the diffrent ways she screamed were harmful to her voice.I do fine on her song Take another peice of my heart except when I get to the very last come on come on come on.My voice goes wacko and I feel out of breath.Any advice? Janice Joplin was an excellent performer. I don't think any two people are exactly alike, though. Some people can scream all day long, and their vocal chords can beg for more, but others can't perform the same way. Just do what feels right for you, and enjoy yourself! Thanks for the BA! Report It Who said you have to sing it EXACTLY like her? Make it unique and sing it your own way, a way that is comfortable for you. she really did work it hard. if you can't get there segue into another Joplin song come on come on .... pause beat take it down, busted flat in baton rouge waitin fer a train I love her vocals, lyrics, and everything about her music. I love to sing too. Janice is one lady I would love to clone after. Just keep on practicing and you will get it down. best of singing! I think you could attribute her failing voice more to her lifestyle than her singing style, although all that screaming couldn't have helped. Take care of your instrument (your body) and learn proper technique and maybe you'll end up like Steven Tyler, who can still scream'n'shout at however old he is. You have to smoke a lot more, drink alot of whiskey, and practise. I saw her in 1970 at the Freedom Express Concert in Toronto She came on at midnight, I believe she was the last act of the weekend. |
