Yes, Shakira has been around a long time. Most people in European and Spanish countries consider her to be the "Spanish Madonna." Shakira sounds a bit like cher to me sometimes (dunno if that's a good or a bad thing). First, just b/c she has been around a long time doesn't make her a good singer. I think she's very talented and actually she's very intelligent (another fact many may not know). Whether or not someone considers her to be good singer is purely opinion based, as is with any other musician. I'm a fan, so I can't complain about her, lol.

I'm a fan of hers and am well aware of how long she's been performing, but I don't think she's a great singer. She sounds as though she's swallowing her tongue most of the time. I enjoy her songs, but I do not think she's a good singer.
