hey there guys! just wondering if you guys can give me a list of now current hollywood singers and their types of singing voices. like.... falsetto, head, chest, etc...
i dont need the soprano, tenor,etc.. =) just wanna know some examples of some singers now and their style of singing..
people like...
1)carrie underwood
2)darlene zschech
3)christina aguilera
and more!
i appreciate the help.... =) Well, most singers flip from chest to head voice from time to time, but these singers use this particular usage of voice more.
Kelly Clarkston, Christina Aguilera, Amy Whinehouse, Alicia Keys uses mostly chest voice.
Justin TImberlake uses alot of falsetto as you already know.
Britney Spears and Paris Hilton uses mostly head voice. But don't let that make you run from it! Head voice is a good thing.
The weight of one's voice is a factor. Some singers just have a weighty head voice and chest voice, and the opposite way around. Singers who want to sound heavier often push chest voice too much. It all depends on what you were born with. For example, Jennifer Hudson was casted in Dreamgirls in part of the heaviness in her voice. Beyonce Knowles and Anika Noni Rose have strong voices, but it is still lyric in nature. Jennifer on the other hand has a dramatic voice. So weight factor does come in when figuring voice types outside of soprano, mezzo, tenor, and baritone. The weight of one's voice doesn't make it better, but it does change the interpretation of the song. Some songs are just meant for certain types of voice. That is the beauty in the human singing voice. Good observation and question. Falsetto in males is the equivalent of head voice in females.
Modern female singers that use mostly chest voice:
Alto: Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Christine Aguilera,
Natalie Maines (Dixie Chicks), Ashlee Simpson, Joss Stone
Soprano: Avril Lavigne, Britney Spears, Kristen Chenoweth, Darlene Zschech
Modern female singers that use a lot of head voice:
Alto: Mariah Carey, Charlotte Church, Alison Krauss
Soprano: Britney Spears (newer stuff) |
