A rich tone when singing? |
How do you maintain a rich, deep resonating sound when singing a note? When I go to the higher pitch my voice either sounds extremely nasal or too "clear" (without vibratto). Is it my breathing? Practice practice practice The biggest solution is usually the simplest...make sure you are opening your mouth. You mouth is a resonator - a space for the sound to vibrate (this is why guitars are hollow and concert hall designs are so important). Opening your mouth and your throat really help- otherwise the sound will be pinched. Also make sure you are getting enough breath and that your breathing from your stomach, not your chest. Instead of your shoulders rising your stomach should be inflating. Sometimes it helps to have a partner put their hands on your shoulders to help you practice this. Happy singing! Make sure your throat is open on the high notes and your jaw dropped open. Do not let the air go through your nose but always mouth breathe when singing. Relax your shoulders and always go for high notes by tightening the abdominal muscles, not by tightening your throat. The vibrato should come naturally. When you warm up, practice on all the aa, ee ,o, and oo sounds and go up and down your scales. Good luck! OMg. I HAVE THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. oh my.. T_T sucks doesn't it? Make sure when breathing to fill your stomach with air. If you are breathing correctly, your shoulders should never move. And with singing, make sure the back of your throat is open. And if you have difficulty reaching a note, tighten the diapragm. By tightening the diaphragm, its like when someone is about to punch you in the stomach, you reflex and you flex your stomach muscles. With that, this should definetly help you , it helped me... Happy Singing!! |
