I've never taken singing lessons before, which should be obvious, in fact I've never really sung in my life until the past few weeks. But anyway please critique my singing. I realize I go offkey in certain places but mainly cause I'm a singing noob.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byelB-gEo... Not bad for no singing experience.
I very much argee with the first commenter in that your voice is nasally. Try singing from your diaphragm-- okay easier said than done, right? Work on your breathing. You should find that when you inhale, your stomach goes out, and when you exhale, your stomach goes in-- Do not move your shoulders when you breathe! A lot of people do that and its poor technique in singing which will strain your vocal chords and ultimately leave you sounding like you've been smoking for a million years.
The higher notes were also very whinny-- when you sing those notes (in falsetto, or not) you should open your mouth vertically, like you're yawning. Feel that soft pallate open in your head. And don't push the sound through your throat, try and make it feel like your pushing it over your head instead of through it. Yeah, that really didn't make sense if you don't know what I'm talking about, but if you practice it more, PROPERLY, it will come naturally to you. Just open your mouth more vertically. I hope this helps. Sounds sorta nasally...
But i've heard MUCH worse. And with some lessons and the right kinda music I bet you could be quite good :)
Definitely more of a band voice than a solo one though. i think your singing is pretty good(and i agree that i have heard much irritating). you should develop your vocal cords and drink warm water everyday. at least four out of eight glasses. practice everyday for half hour. and gargle before singing. overall rating i would give you-6.5%/10.0% u certainly are sorry !!! lol//just practice!!! Advise from a Vocal teacher/coach,
The song is not good for you, you are not in the right key for yourself. Pick a song where it is not to low and not too high.
You are articulating well and you have a good basic voice.
You can really make something out of it, with a few changes.
Get a song that you like. Make sure you are in your right key.
Try a ballad first and put emotion into the words.
Get to know the song inside and out. Then you will not have to even think of the words. Same with the music make sure you know the music well.
When you do a video, put it on Youtube again, and let us see your face. Stand away from the camera and if you feel you need a prop, put a mike in your hand as if you are using it.
