What is it like to make a living as a professional musician? Singer or instrumentalist?

well...you get to work in the clothes you slept in...i havent been out of bed before noon in years...you usually get free drinks on the house which is very tempting (i indulge...some of my band mates dont)it is alot of fun but also frustrating..you have to fill out 10 99 forms for taxes but you can write ALOT of stuff off.one month you are rolling in money the next you are broke it can be flaky money...no health insurance. there absolutely nothing professional about what i do....but i guess since i dont have another job other than teaching guitar and playing with the band i am a professional musician
