Im 14 and going to audition for a performing arts school and the audition requirements for voice is this:
Prepare two vocal selections - one uptempo and one ballad (no more than 32 bars each). You must provide your own accompanist or accompaniment track (cassette or CD). No a capella singing will be allowed.
In addition to published works from musical scores or popular sheet music, some of the following titles are available at bookstores, libraries, and online. Audition material is not limited to these titles but should be appropriate to the student's vocal range and style.
Im not even sure exactly what that means but I need to know what songs I can sing and stuff.
I need song names and/or artist names. Thanks so much! I suggest
I Don't Miss You - Amy Pearson (its fun, easy to learn and medium difficulty to sing)
Deep Peace - i don't know the name of the artist (its simple easy and short)
Friends Forever - Vitamin C (its in between classical and upbeat)
in the end u need to pick 2 songs u know really well and can sing well. Concrete Angel-Martina McBride
Misery Buisness-Paramore Walk Away - Kelly Clarkson
Tattoo - Jordin Sparks
EDITING: I have to say that I disagree with the people below.
If you go for a classic, then the song is so well-known and would be very hard to top. You'd only be compared to the great singer, which can be really good or really bad.
If you choose a newer song, like my selections, then people will still enjoy hearing you sing it, since they should know the song.
That way, you won't be compared to someone like Aretha Franklin, or someone else. Nothing by a poular artist now! go for more classical pieces.
good luck I agree with the person above, don't use anything like Paramore. Try singing classical stuff, or a song that everybody would know thats fun to sing. |
