I'm a singer/guitarist and i have, according to my guitar teacher, a nice soft latin voice, but the problem is that when I sing songs like White Room or any other rock and roll song i need more umf. I was wondering how i could do that anybody got any tips To lower or deepen your voice, drink a couple of shots and smoke several cigarettes about 15 min before singing. You don't have to inhale. =D
To get a growl, drink a glass of milk, eat sugar and smoke a cigar a few minutes before singing. NOTE: this may clog you with mucous, but apparently that adds to the sound.
To get more power, strengthen your diaphragm muscle by lying down with a heavy book on your diaphragm and pushing the book up as you inhale. Practice a few minutes every night for 2 weeks. Then you'll be able to force out more air more powerfully when you sing. Remember to sing to the back of the room to project your voice, not at the front row. Also, sing songs in your natural chest range to get more practice belting out. Country western, broadway and opera are good genres for practicing this.
Good luck!!! =) |
