Can anyone be taught to sing? |
I am a rank rotten, tone deaf but enthusiastic singer! I would love to be able to sing just one song in tune. Is there any chance that could happen e.g. by reading a book, by getting singing lessons or do I really need a miracle? If the impossible were to happen it would be really great if I could sing Bring him home (Les Mis) or She Wears My Ring (Solomon King) The best way to master a song is to pick one you like that isn't too technically demanding, and have the confidence to go with it. Remember that "entertaining" isn't always the same as singing well, or note perfect. One of the best performers is Ozzy Osbourne, technically not a good singer, but a great entertainer! On the other hand, you have the Spice Girls, but don't let that put you off from trying! there are vocal coaches that can help you...that, or try expanding your voice more apparently not...in paris hiltons case! They say everyone can sing at least one song. Mines Dirty Old Town. mines.house of the rising sun...i'm quite good at that one.... im sure you can.. im mean with your attitude it sounds like you have a passion for it. you can get a coach && expand your vioce. i wish you the best =] Go for it! I think everyone an anyone can sing with training and lots of practice! Ok maybe not anyone (there are a very small few who are hopeless), but you should sing your heart out enthusiastically anyways. But if you really really want to try and learn, I would recommend a voice teacher. I had one for two years and it was the best idea I ever had! It would be really hard to learn from a book, it can't hear if you're not in tune, or if you're improving or not. Go for the voice lessons, if you love singing you love them! Good luck! And keep singing! (good song choices by the way) yeah apart from you Absolutely...You just have to find a good singing coach/ teacher. But, I don't think reading a book will help you, unless it's to teach you to read music. If you can pick out the song on the piano, and try over and over to hit the pitches and keys, then you can probably teach yourself to sing instead of imploying a teacher. But, teachers teach you technical things like how to breath properly. It really depends. It would be a problem if you're tone deaf, have off-vocal chords, etc. Still, yes you could get better if you really tried and got extra help with your vocals from vocal coaches, teachers, etc. However, it's a high possibility that you'll never sing better than someone who has true talent. (No Offense). So in conclusion, anyone can be taught how to sing. Yes. I don't sing like Elton or Elvis, but if you sing from the heart, like you wrote the song, that shows. Singing is as much presentation as voice. Breath support, enunciation and poise mean as much to the audience as what song you choose to sing. It may sound 'old school', but practice, careful confident practice, does make perfect. If possible, use a keyboard to help train your ear--the results suprise even me after all these years. Anyone can be taught to sing. God bless. Singing is a natural talent, you've either got it or you ain't! I started off singing karaoke which i was dreadful at now after a few years of finding which songs i can sing some people think I'm a good singer, find a song that suits your voice and take it from there you can't sing some songs that are out of your range |
