Does anyone else find that their voice sounds better at night?

Mine does...

My voice sounds better in late afternoon or at night. It's because your vocal cords 'wake up' way after your body does. It usually takes a few hours to get the 'morning sound' out of your voice if you don't do warm-ups in the morning. My teacher told me the approximate amount of time needed for your voice to completely wake up and be fit for singing is 2.5 hours after you get out of bed. Then after that, you do gentle warm-ups to get your breathing and singing techniques in order before you start plunging into songs. If you're warming up right after you get out of bed, you need to be even more careful with what you do and start softer and gentler, and take slightly longer on vocalises so you don't damage your vocal cords.

Actually, warming up in the shower is a good thing because the steam helps to open up your sinuses and clear any mucus. You'll find that it's easier to sing nicely when you come out from the shower :) Report It

Now that you mention it, it sure does.

yeah, me too... i wonder why?

Definitely! I think it has something to do with your voice being warmed up. And you being awake.
